Ferguson is currently seeking a 3rd Shift Shipping Manager to join our team!
Shift time is M-F 8:30pm - 5:30am.
Responsibilities:
Own overnight shipping and load execution for all outbound routes, including first runs, second runs, and branch material staging, supporting approximately 18 drivers with a team of 6 loaders
Provide hands-on, on-floor leadership throughout the shift by actively observing loading, coaching associates in real time, and correcting execution issues before trucks are released
Ensure all routes are staged, loaded, scanned, and verified in proper sequence, enforcing scan-to-load discipline with minimal exceptions
Conduct pre-release trailer and truck audits to confirm load accuracy, completeness, stop-order organization, and safe build quality
Maintain high load quality standards to ensure freight is deliverable, securely loaded, damage-free, and organized for efficient driver offload
Oversee proper pipe and oversized material handling, including separation, support, stop-order readiness, and grouping of related materials
Supervise and actively participate in unloading inbound shipments and picking/shipping outbound orders, ensuring accuracy of both product and paperwork
Execute routine lane and dock walks (pipe, rack, floor) to maintain process control, organization, and cleanliness throughout the warehouse
Ensure inventory integrity, including completion and verification of daily cycle counts
Maintain strict shipping documentation and compliance, including route packets, credits, PO pickups, transfers, reroutes, and Hazmat paperwork and audits
Enforce warehouse safety standards and PPE compliance; maintain a safe, controlled work environment and immediately report incidents or concerns to leadership
Maintain security of the warehouse, equipment, and assets, including strict key-control procedures with nightly accountability
Investigate operational issues by verifying facts first, identifying root cause, and documenting corrective and preventive actions
Hold associates directly accountable for repeated errors through documented coaching, performance management, and follow-up
Support associate success through training, development, and performance feedback, reinforcing standards and expectations
Set the tone for the shift through professional, solution-focused leadership, ownership of outcomes, and consistent execution to standard
Required Qualifications
Prior leadership or supervisory experience in warehouse, shipping, or distribution operations
Demonstrated ability to enforce standard work and process discipline in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills with follow-through on corrective actions
Experience coaching associates and addressing performance and accountability issues directly
Ability to work on the warehouse floor for extended periods and lead through active presence, not desk-based management
Clear, professional communication skills with the ability to document findings and actions
Preferred Experience
Experience with RF scanning systems and scan-to-load processes
Knowledge of load building standards, stop-order loading, and damage prevention
Familiarity with Hazmat shipping requirements and audits
Experience managing overnight or high-volume shipping operations

Pay Range:

$4,331.70 - $9,529.30

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
