Job Title: Set Up Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Set Up Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will initially train on the 1st shift for 4-6 weeks before transitioning to the 2nd shift. This role involves hands-on training with CNC machinery, including set ups and changeovers on CNC mills and lathes. The technician will troubleshoot issues on Haas Mills and other CNC equipment, ensuring smooth operations and updating machinery as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform set ups and changeovers on CNC lathes and mills.

  • Operate CNC machinery and troubleshoot issues as the first line of defense.

  • Learn and operate various types of CNC machinery within the facility.

  • Conduct run-offs to ensure machinery is functioning correctly.

  • Utilize hand and power tools for maintenance and setup tasks.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and part prints for accurate setup and operation.

  • Assist operators with machinery issues and ensure adherence to tolerances.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with CNC lathe setup, specifically turret lathes.

  • Proficiency in CNC changeover and tooling change out.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and programs.

  • Experience with calipers, mics, and gages.

  • Ability to change speeds and feeds while maintaining tolerances.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in medical device manufacturing.

  • Familiarity with injection molders, CNC machinery, drills, or presses.

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude through tinkering or disassembly.

Work Environment

This medium-sized manufacturing company specializes in automotive and agriculture parts, with 50-60 employees on site. The facility is clean and continuously upgrading. The role requires training on the 1st shift, then transitioning to the 2nd shift from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, Monday - Friday . Attendance is crucial, and the dress code includes jeans, a shirt, closed-toe shoes, and necessary protective gear. Employees are allowed one earbud while working, provided they can hear others and machinery.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Haven, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00/hr.
