Description
We are looking for an experienced Associate General Counsel to join our team in the greater New Haven, Connecticut area. This role will primarily focus on regulatory compliance within the energy sector, requiring a strong background in legal counsel and industry-specific expertise. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring our organization adheres to all regulatory standards while contributing to strategic legal initiatives.

Responsibilities:
• Provide legal advice and guidance on regulatory compliance matters within the energy industry.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure adherence to laws and regulations related to electricity, alternative energy, and gas.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements relevant to the sector.
• Manage and oversee legal aspects of energy-related projects, ensuring compliance and successful execution.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders.
• Support the organization in developing policies and procedures that align with legal requirements.
• Represent the company in legal matters and regulatory proceedings as needed.
• Work closely with external legal counsel when necessary to address complex issues.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential legal concerns.
Requirements
5–10+ years of regulatory, environmental, or energy law experience.
Strong background in federal and state regulatory proceedings.
Experience with PHMSA, FERC, environmental, and other heavily regulated frameworks.
Prior in‑house counsel or direct operational support experience is a plus.
Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, environmental, and operations teams.
Strong communication skills and the maturity to represent the company in high‑visibility settings.

Must old an active Bar membership in good standing.
