Job Title: Asbestos Inspector

Overview

We are looking for a motivated Asbestos Inspector to join our environmental services team. In this role, you will conduct detailed inspections, surveys, and sampling of building materials and environmental media to identify asbestos, lead-based paint, PCBs, and other potential contaminants. This position offers hands‑on field experience, professional development opportunities, and the chance to contribute to safer, healthier built environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections and sampling of interior and exterior building materials for asbestos, lead-based paint, PCBs, and related contaminants.

  • Assist with environmental sampling of soil, water, dust, and indoor air.

  • Monitor abatement and remediation projects, including contractor oversight, documentation, and post‑abatement inspections.

  • Conduct clearance and re‑occupancy air testing or other required sampling.

  • Stay current with industry standards, safety practices, and regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in internal and external training sessions to broaden technical knowledge.

  • Complete additional tasks as assigned to support project needs.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.

  • Current licenses and certifications in asbestos inspection, asbestos project monitoring, and lead inspection.

  • 0–4 years of relevant field or practical experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and time‑management skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

  • Reliable transportation for site visits and client meetings.

  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with asbestos inspection protocols and safety regulations.

  • Familiarity with environmental monitoring procedures and documentation requirements.

  • Additional asbestos‑related certifications.

Work Environment

This is a field‑focused role that involves visiting various building sites and working in diverse environmental conditions. Strict adherence to safety procedures is required. Some travel to client sites is expected. Our team supports professional advancement through ongoing internal training and opportunities to attend industry workshops and lectures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of New Haven, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $75000.00/yr.

Strong benefits package, fully paid health, 15 pto, 10 sick days, 2 bonuses and annual raises

This is a fully onsite position in New Haven,CT.
