Actalent Process Engineer in New Hampton, Iowa
Description
The Process Engineer will own and support die casting processes from the production floor up, with a focus on improving efficiency, quality, and overall manufacturing performance. This role is hands-on and highly collaborative, working closely with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to keep processes running smoothly and continuously improving.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, analyze, and optimize die casting processes to improve cycle times, yield, and product quality
Monitor day-to-day production performance and implement process controls to ensure stable, repeatable results
Troubleshoot production and quality issues, performing root cause analysis and driving corrective actions
Develop and implement process improvements that reduce scrap, downtime, and manufacturing costs
Partner cross-functionally to ensure products and processes meet internal and customer quality standards
Support continuous improvement initiatives and introduce new ideas, tools, or technologies to enhance operations
Skills
Process design, process engineering, die casting, chemical engineering, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related required
Hands-on process design and engineering experience in die casting environments
Strong knowledge of process controls, SPC, and production optimization
Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve manufacturing issues on the floor
Chemical Engineering degree or closely related engineering background
Experience collaborating with manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams
Proficient with manufacturing and process engineering software/tools
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement is a plus
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Hampton, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
