Job Title: Project Director
Job Description
The Project Director serves as a key member of the Operations team, overseeing complex construction projects from initiation through completion. This role builds the company’s project portfolio by ensuring that all work is completed safely, accurately, on time, and within budget. The Project Director manages structured project parameters while remaining flexible and responsive to unique project challenges, with a strong focus on quality, client satisfaction, and profitability.
Responsibilities
Take full responsibility for the safety, quality, and profitability of assigned construction projects.
Manage all aspects of job setup, including project costing, labor hours, and project scheduling.
Plan and schedule field crews to align with customer timelines and project milestones.
Coordinate and collaborate with subcontractors to effectively manage workload and project scope.
Develop, monitor, and maintain project budgets, timelines, and quality control plans.
Ensure strict compliance with all applicable local, state, and national building codes and regulations.
Oversee and support the preparation, review, and accuracy of project billings and related documentation.
Lead and supervise construction project teams, providing clear direction and resolving issues as they arise.
Manage multiple projects and project teams simultaneously while maintaining high standards of execution.
Apply strong planning skills to define how each process within the project should function and integrate.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and internal team members.
Utilize construction project management software and labor management systems to track progress and performance.
Oversee self-performed mechanical work and process piping activities to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
Support and guide BIM and coordination efforts to improve constructability and reduce conflicts in the field.
Contribute to data center construction projects and other large-scale mechanical and construction initiatives.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 15+ years’ experience supervising and running construction projects.
Proven ability to lead and deliver construction projects valued at $5 million or more.
Hands-on project management experience within mechanical and construction management environments.
Experience with process piping and self-performed mechanical work.
Background in data center construction or similarly complex technical facilities.
Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects and project teams simultaneously.
Excellent planning skills, with the ability to define and structure how each project process should function.
Proven ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
Strong organization, time-management, problem-solving, and budgeting skills.
Proficiency with construction project management software.
Ability to effectively use labor management systems and time and materials tracking.
Solid understanding of local, state, and national building codes and regulations relevant to construction projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Mechanical contracting experience or construction management Background is highly beneficial.
Experience working on mechanical, process piping, and our Client engineering-related projects.
Ability to coordinate mechanical and construction trades in complex, schedule-driven environments.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey expectations and project status to all stakeholders.
Proven track record of maintaining high quality standards while meeting demanding timelines.
Comfort working within structured project parameters while adapting to changing project needs and challenges.
Work Environment
The Project Director works within a dynamic construction and mechanical project environment, overseeing field and office activities for large, complex projects, including data center construction and process piping installations.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of New Florence, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $170000.00 - $190000.00/yr.
