Direct Line is hiring entry-level Data Center Technicians to work on cabling and fiber installs inside large data centers in New Carlisle, IN. If you have experience in low voltage, electrical work, or structured cabling and want to build real data center experience, this is a solid opportunity.
This is hands‑on work alongside experienced techs on real job sites. If you’re dependable, willing to learn, and take pride in your work, we can teach you the rest.
What You’ll Be Doing
Pulling, routing, terminating, labeling, and dressing copper and fiber cabling
Installing and removing network cabling and equipment in live data centers
Working in MDF and IDF closets
Installing ladder rack and seismic bracing above and below raised floors
Reading blueprints, floor plans, and job drawings
Helping with copper and fiber testing and troubleshooting
Keeping work areas clean, organized, and professional
Following all jobsite safety rules and standards
Taking direction from lead and senior technicians
Learning advanced skills like fiber splicing, labeling systems, and service swaps
What We’re Looking For
Background in low voltage, electrical, telecom, or cabling work
Comfortable using basic hand tools
Understands jobsite safety and takes it seriously
Can read floor plans and follow instructions
Willing to learn fiber, testing, and data center standards
Reliable, shows up on time, and works well with a team
Understands how to work on customer sites professionally
This role is ideal for:
Entry-level low voltage techs
Electrical apprentices wanting to transition into data centers
Technicians looking to level up their skills and pay long-term
Physical & Job Requirements
Able to pull cable, climb ladders, and work on raised floors
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
On your feet most of the day: walking, standing, bending
Good hand dexterity for tools, terminations, and testing
Comfortable working in active data center environments

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of New Carlisle, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
