Littell Steel Company Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialist in New Brighton, Pennsylvania

This role handles the day-to-day work of paying our vendors and running payroll accurately and on time.  You will own accounts payable from invoice to payment and make sure employees are paid correctly every cycle.

Accounts Payable Responsibilities:

  • Process vendor invoices from start to finish (matching,coding,approvals,payments)
  • Set up new vendors and keep vendor records up to date (Including W-9s)
  • Runs weekly payments (ACH, checks, wires)
  • Keep AP organized, current, and reconciled to the general ledger
  • Handle vendor questions and resolve invoice issues
  • Support the month-end close with accruals and reporting

Payroll Responsibilities:

  • Run biweekly or semimonthly payroll for employees and contractors
  • Review timecards, overtime, bonuses, and deductions for accuracy
  • Maintain payroll records for new hires, terminations, and changes
  • Coordinate payroll deductions for benefits and retirement plans
  • Reconcile payroll to the general ledger
  • Make sure payroll follows federal, state and local rules

Process & Accuracy:

  • Follow clear approval and control processes
  • Help with year-end items like W-2s and 1099s
  • Look for practical ways to improve Accounts Payable and Payroll 

What We Are Looking For:

  • 3+ years of hands-on accounts payable and payroll experience
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort reconciling numbers
  • Experience using accounting and payroll software (Sage, Quickbooks, NetSuite, ADP, Paychex, Gusto or Similar)
  • Solid Excel skills
  • Reliable, organized, and able to handle confidential information
  • Comfortable working with vendors, employees, and managers

Nice to Have (Not Requirements):

  • Experience with purchase orders or three-way matching
  • Multi-state or multi-entity payroll experience
  • Experience with AP or expense tools (Bill.com,Concur, Expensify, Ramp)
  • Accounting or payroll certification
