Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift

What You’ll Do

You’ll handle a mix of preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and project work across production and facility systems.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment

  • Maintain and service 30 injection molding machines (primarily newer equipment, 10–20 years old)

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems (2‑phase & 3‑phase, up to 440V)

  • Support automation and robotics systems used in production

  • Maintain and repair HVAC equipment , including RTUs, chillers, and air compressors

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic systems and components

  • Maintain and repair pump lines and related equipment , handling components up to 110 lbs safely

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) with a strong focus on Fridays

  • Assist with project work , including equipment upgrades and improvement initiatives

Technical & Documentation Tasks

  • Troubleshoot basic PLC issues (Mitsubishi PLCs preferred)

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation

  • Document work and equipment history using maintenance software

  • Use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment (meters, gauges, wrenches, etc.)

  • Follow all safety procedures , including strict Lockout/Tagout compliance

Facility Support (Occasional)

  • Assist with light facilities tasks , such as moving or reconfiguring cubicles or office equipment

  • Rarely assist with janitorial-related tasks (primary services are outsourced)

What We’re Looking For

Required Skills & Experience

  • Mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment

  • Hands-on experience with preventative and corrective maintenance

  • Electrical troubleshooting experience (2‑phase & 3‑phase up to 440V)

  • Experience with injection molding machines and support equipment

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics

  • HVAC maintenance experience (RTUs, chillers, air compressors)

  • Basic PLC troubleshooting experience (Mitsubishi preferred)

  • Experience working with hydraulic systems

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and facility systems

  • Consistent adherence to safety procedures , including Lockout/Tagout

Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have

  • Hydraulics and pneumatics experience

  • Automation and robotics maintenance experience

  • Facilities maintenance experience

  • Interest in continued education or certifications (electrical, HVAC, injection molding, etc.)

  • Comfortable using maintenance software and digital documentation systems

Schedule & Work Environment

  • 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, typically 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

  • Start/end times may flex by 30 minutes

  • Training: Initially on 1st shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) for onboarding

  • Maintenance team works a consistent 5x8 schedule

  • Hands-on industrial environment with injection molding, robotics, HVAC, hydraulics, and high-voltage equipment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Brighton, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $31.00/hr.
