Job description

Summary

The Business Intelligence Analyst is a company-wide role responsible for managing, analyzing, and presenting key performance indicators (KPIs) to support data-driven decision-making. This individual serves as a central resource for leadership and decision makers, translating complex data into clear, meaningful insights that drive business outcomes.

The role requires strong technical capability combined with business acumen—understanding not just what the numbers say, but why they matter.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Actively participate in a continuous improvement culture providing recommendations and implementing enhancements to current methods and procedures.

• Own and manage company-wide KPIs, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and relevance.

• Support leaders and decision makers by delivering clear, actionable insights.

• Consolidate and analyze data from multiple sources, including:

• Microsoft Dynamics

• SQL databases feeding MS Dynamics

• Spreadsheet-based data sources

• Design, build, and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI.

• Ensure data integrity and proper data flow between SQL, MS Dynamics, and Power BI.

• Translate business questions into structured analytical and reporting solutions.

• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data analysis.

• Clearly explain the context and drivers behind metrics—not just the results.

Candidate skills & requirements

Education/Experience

• Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field, such as:

• Business Analytics

• Information Systems

• Data Science

• Finance

• Engineering

• Business Administration

• Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Analytics) are a plus, but not required.

• Experience in a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar analytical role is preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics (or strong ability to learn quickly).

• Working knowledge of Power BI, including dashboard creation, development, and data modeling.

• Understanding of SQL databases, particularly how enterprise systems are fed from SQL sources.

• Strong proficiency with Excel and spreadsheet-based analysis.

• Ability to connect data to business decisions and explain insights clearly to stakeholders.

• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
