KONECRANES NUCLEAR EQUIPMENT & SERV Structural Mechanical Analysis Engineer in NEW BERLIN, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Duties: Konecranes Nuclear Equipment & Services, LLC seeks Structural / Mechanical Analysis Engineer in New Berlin, Wisconsin to perform analytical calculations to compute the stresses developed in structural and mechanical components of crane. Evaluate the static strength and fatigue life of fasteners (welds, bolts and keys), shafts, bearings, gears. Apply expertise in standards like AWS D1.1/D14.1, AISC, CMAA and AGMA. Use MathCad, ANSYS, KC Developed Programs and other in-house built analytical tools to perform and present mechanical and structural calculations of crane components conforming to the specifications of NOG, AISC, ASME, AGMA, CMAA, NUREG, EN, KTR, etc. Develop programs in MathCAD, Excel and APDL to standardize and automate these calculations. Build detailed 3-D ANSYS models of overhead, gantry and jib cranes to exactly simulate the behavior of trolley, bridge and the complex motion of rope during a seismic event. Perform global and local buckling analysis of crane and crane components using Eigen value analysis, Nonlinear analysis and analytical calculations that meet CMAA, FEM, EN and NOG requirements. Perform optimization of bridge girders and other crane components subjected to various geometry and functional constraints like buckling, yielding and fatigue. 1 day work from home permitted ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Requirements: Master\'s degree in Mechanical, Structural or Civil Engineering. 2 years of experience performing mechanical or structural calculations for cranes and related equipment. 2 years experience performing mechanical or structural calculations using Mathcad Prime, as well as structural and seismic analysis via ANSYS Workbench and ANSYS APDL. 2 years experience producing and peer reviewing calculations within an ASME NQA-1 or equivalent quality assurance standard. 2 years experience producing calculation packages and submitting them to clients for review. Knowledge of different static and fatigue failure theories based on stress life approach. Detailed knowledge of industry standards such as CMAA 70, NOG-1, NUM-1, AWS D1.1, AISC 360, and equivalent international standards (EN, ISO, CSA, CISC, etc.).
