Job Title: 1st and 2nd shift CNC Machinist
Job Description
The CNC Machinist sets up and operates a three-machine cell that includes a CNC lathe, mill, and robot, ensuring high-quality production through precise machine adjustments, program edits, and thorough quality checks.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate a three-machine cell consisting of a CNC lathe, CNC mill, and robot to produce precision parts.
Perform machine set-ups, including tooling selection, tool offsets, and work offsets for both mills and lathes.
Edit CNC programs using G-code to improve part quality, optimize cycle times, and resolve machining issues.
Adjust tooling and machining parameters as needed to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to determine machining requirements.
Use Fanuc controls to run, adjust, and troubleshoot CNC equipment during production.
Perform in-process and final quality checks using micrometers and other precision measuring tools.
Monitor machine performance and part quality, making corrections proactively to prevent defects.
Document and communicate any issues related to tooling, programs, or quality to appropriate personnel.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety and operational procedures in the manufacturing facility.
Essential Skills
At least 3 years of CNC machining experience on mills and lathes.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Fanuc controls.
Strong knowledge of G-code programming and editing.
Proven ability to perform CNC set-ups and adjust offsets on mills and lathes.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
Experience performing detailed quality checks using micrometers and other precision measuring instruments.
Demonstrated ability to operate CNC mills and lathes in a production environment.
Solid understanding of CNC machining processes and basic troubleshooting of equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience working with robotic equipment or in a multi-machine cell is a plus.
Experience operating multiple CNC machines simultaneously is beneficial.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a production setting.
Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and support staff.

Work Environment
The role is based in a manufacturing facility located in New Berlin. The company is family owned and employs approximately 106 people, creating a mid-sized, team-oriented environment. You will work on CNC mills, lathes, and a robot cell controlled by Fanuc systems, using precision measuring tools such as micrometers to verify quality. The environment is production-focused, with typical manufacturing shop conditions, and requires adherence to safety procedures and standard industrial work practices.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
