Summary
The Equipment and Reliability Engineer improves asset reliability and process performance to deliver sustained gains in OEE and cost. Working in close partnership with Operations and Maintenance, this role applies engineering judgment and data-driven analysis to eliminate repeat failures, strengthen equipment capability, and support equipment upgrades and installations. The role requires hands-on technical leadership to drive problem solving, implement reliability improvements, and influence consistent execution across the plant. Execute reliability improvements that reduce unplanned downtime, improve sleeving OEE, and sustain gains through disciplined PMs, rebuild plans, and standard work—while supporting Platform Managers and Maintenance with technical depth and follow-through.
Responsibilities
• Execute reliability initiatives that deliver sustained improvements in OEE• Support and lead sleeving OEE improvement efforts, including equipment upgrades, repeat-failure elimination, and waste reduction• Develop, write, and continuously improve preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, rebuild plans, and technical documentation in partnership with Maintenance.• Champion PM execution quality by auditing compliance, validating effectiveness, and closing gaps that drive repeat failures.• Support CIL/centerline development and audits, ensuring standards are established, documented, and sustained on the floor.• Provide technical support for root cause analysis (RCA), including failure mode identification, corrective action definition, and follow-up verification.• Partner with Platform Managers to close technical actions from kaizens, RCAs, and downtime reviews.• Collaborate with Maintenance to further develop and mature the CMMS (SAP) structure— improving PM organization, rebuild tracking, and failure history.• Assist Platform Managers with vendor engagement, including technical reviews, implementation support, trials, and rollouts (without owning capital project management).• Conduct focused equipment studies and trials with Operations to validate improvements prior to standardization.• Support sustainment by ensuring documentation, standards, and training inputs are completed and transferred to Operations and Maintenance.• Serve as a technical reliability SME for assigned systems, escalating systemic risks and opportunities to the Senior Reliability Engineer.• Adhere to Chobani safety procedures, food safety requirements, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field)• 2-5 years of experience (including experience at the plant level)• Six Sigma Green Belt certified or the ability to achieve certification within 6 months of start date• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both in oral and written form• Experience creating and drafting technical documents and reports• Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, computer aided design (CAD).

The salary range for this full-time position is $82,500.00 - $153,500.00, + bonus + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
