BJ'S Service Company Line Cook in New Bedford, Massachusetts

Job Summary: We are seeking experienced Line Cooks and Prep Cooks to join a fast-paced kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will be skilled in food preparation, able to follow recipes accurately, and maintain high standards of food safety and quality. Key Responsibilities: Set up and break down kitchen stations Prepare menu items according to recipes and Chef?s standards Modify dishes based on allergies and dietary restrictions Maintain proper portion control Expedite orders during service Prepare in advance for peak service times Minimize food waste following storage and temperature standards Plate dishes consistently and professionally Restock stations as needed Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment Operate kitchen equipment (grill, fryers, ovens, slicers, etc.) Follow safe knife handling and kitchen safety practices Assist with inventory counts Crosstrain in other departments Contribute ideas for specials and menu items Requirements / Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of experience as a cook (restaurant, resort, or private club) Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Team player with a proactive attitude English preferred, but not required if candidate has strong experience Resume required Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods Ability to handle kitchen equipment safely Ability to work in high-temperature environment Work Environment: Fast-paced professional kitchen (restaurant/resort setting) Benefits: Competitive pay Free housing provided Opportunity to work in a dynamic kitchen environment
