Job Title: General Laborer – Construction
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled General Laborer to perform insulation installation on mechanical systems . Experience in general labor or construction-related tasks is highly valued. Candidates with experience in field or job site environments are preferred.
Responsibilities
Install insulation materials on pipes, ducts, and other mechanical systems to control temperature and reduce energy loss.
Clean and prepare surfaces prior to insulation application to ensure proper adhesion.
Carry out accurate measuring and cutting of insulation materials to match specific system requirements.
Utilize a tape measure and basic hand tools correctly to complete tasks such as cutting, fitting, and securing materials.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and meet project timelines.
Essential Skills
Experience performing general labor or construction-related tasks in a field or job site environment.
Proficiency in using a tape measure and basic hand tools.
Experience with installing or assisting with the installation of insulation materials on mechanical systems.
Knowledgeable of safety practices on construction sites, including the consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to stand, bend, lift, and carry materials throughout the workday in a construction setting.
Capability to work effectively as part of a team supporting experienced insulators.
Possession of a valid driver's license to reliably travel to job sites as required.
Ownership of required basic tools, including a tape measure, red aviation snips, and small channel locks.

Work Environment
This role operates on active construction sites in the Ames and Des Moines metro area. The environment is hands-on, fast-paced, and collaborative , involving frequent standing, lifting, and working around mechanical systems. Safety is a top priority ; team members are required to wear steel-toe boots, hard hats, high-visibility clothing, and safety glasses at all times.

This is a Contract position based out of Nevada, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
