A. BASIC PURPOSECooperate with Program Director in planning and implementing the camp program. Organize andadminister asafe and meaningful program in the area of arts and crafts that is in harmony with the goals andobjectives ofCamp Del Oro.
B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Develop innovative approaches to crafts that will encourage campers to experiment and explore theirown creativity.• Be certain that each camper completes at least one craft project which will be taken home as areminder of his camp experience.• Maintain order and cleanliness in the craft house.• Train and assist counselors to be familiar with rules, programs and crafts available to campers.• Design program crafts reflecting nature.• Maintain an inventory of supplies and materials to insure a good program is conducted for all campsessions.• Report supply needs and give a materials list to the program director for purchase.• Coordinate all craft activities with other camp programs.• Assist the assistant program director with implementing campfire program.• Give support to total camp programs.• Assist with break day duties as assigned.• Maintain a standard of cleanliness in personal grooming and in living quarters.• Attend and participate in evening programs and spiritual activities.• Assist with clean up of total camp at the end of each session and at the conclusion of the summer.• Assist with the camp brief at the end of the summer.• Assist the Program Director in completing inventories at summer's end.• Assist the Program Director with other duties as needed.All staff may be called upon at any time to assist in the total operation of the camp. All staff isexpected to be involved in the total camp program. You are expected to join in all eveningprograms; absences are excused only through the Program Director.
C. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS1. Must be at least 18 years of age2. Must have general skills in working with children3. Preferred previous camp experience either as a camper of as a staff member
D. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimescontinuous basis.Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and tools.Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
