Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Associate / Machine Operator

Job Description

This role combines shipping and receiving responsibilities with hands-on machine operation in a plastics manufacturing environment. You will support the full production process by running an extruder machine, assisting with pre- and post-fabrication of custom plastic products for the construction industry, and preparing outbound shipments, including building shipping crates. The position offers on-the-job training and the opportunity to grow your skills in manufacturing and logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily shipping and receiving tasks, including picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment.

  • Operate an extruder machine safely and efficiently as part of the plastics production process.

  • Support pre-fabrication and post-fabrication activities for custom plastic products used in the construction trades.

  • Assist with general production and general labor duties as needed on the manufacturing floor.

  • Help build and assemble wooden crates and other packaging to protect materials during shipment.

  • Use basic hand and power tools, such as hammers and screwdrivers, to complete crating and packaging tasks.

  • Inspect materials and finished products for basic quality and accuracy before shipping.

  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Collaborate with team members to meet production and shipping deadlines.

Essential Skills

  • Previous machine operation experience in a manufacturing or production setting.

  • Experience with shipping duties, including picking and packing orders.

  • Ability to perform general labor and general production tasks.

  • Comfort using basic hand and power tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, and similar shop tools.

  • Ability to work safely around running machinery and heated equipment.

  • Capability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods and handling materials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with plastics extrusion or similar production processes is a plus.

  • Previous experience in a shipping and receiving role in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment and processes.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

  • Strong attention to detail when packing and preparing orders for shipment.

  • Interest in developing skills in both logistics and machine operation.

Work Environment

The facility is located just off Bell Street in Neenah, in an easily accessible area near a business park. The building is older and houses continuously running equipment that melts and processes plastic, which means the environment can become hot, especially during the summer months. Team members work on the production floor around operating machinery and standard shipping and packing areas, using basic hand and power tools as part of their daily tasks. Candidates should be comfortable working in a warm, active manufacturing setting and performing physical work throughout the shift.

This is a Permanent position based out of Neenah, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
