Summary You will serve as a SECURITY ASSISTANT (RANGE OPERATIONS) in the OPERATIONS DIVISION of NAVBASE SAN DIEGO SEC DET. Responsibilities You will advise other employees on regulatory requirements for the Small Arms Range maintenance and cleaning. You will document small arms range operations schedules (e.g. range cleaning, brass removal and certification, facility management) to ensure the range remains operational. You will interact with the public tactfully to provide assistance to general questions and non-emergency situations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing a variety of small arms range operations support; 2) Ensuring that hazardous waste management, industrial hygiene, small arms brass gleaning, small arms range maintenance, lead awareness or brass and debris disposal are in accordance with established policies and procedures; 3) Maintaining scheduled range cleaning, industrial hygiene and environmental reports. OR A combination of education and experience as described above that equates to one year of experience. Physical Demands: Work is primarily physical, PPE is required while cleaning the Small Arms Range, exposure to heat and cold during Range operations and maintenance is expected. Some lifting, long periods of standing and bending is required. Work Environment: Work involves some minimal risks: lead awareness, sight and hearing conservation.
