Summary You will serve as an Operations Data Analyst in the office of Operations Planning Manager (300.1), Operations Department (300) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will be responsible to provide pertinent data analysis support to the branch through various aspects of data collection, categorization, trend analysis, and data finalization via report. You will analyze data for process costs, resource costs, and perform value analysis. You will develop and maintain databases showing information derived from data categorization. You will serve as the focal point for productivity and quality suggestions and ensures that suggestions are answered and implemented as appropriate. You will assist in the review and analysis of overall administrative and support programs through review of reports, projects and information. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature. Experience with providing administrative services to the Operations Department, analyze administrative practices and designs and recommend improvements in procedures and poli­cies. Experience with organizational structures, interrelationships and functions sufficient to integrate, balance and monitor the status of actions significant to Department mission. Experience with effectively communicate with varying levels of management, with skills needed for written and oral communications sufficient to prepare and convey findings relating to departmental issues. Experience with electronic computerized database systems and ability to manipulate data independently. Experience with electronic equipment and systems such as, but not limited to, personal computer, Access database, Excel, and PowerPoint.
