Naval Intelligence Command SECURITY SPECIALIST in Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida

Summary You will serve as a Security Specialist at the GG-09 grade level for Navy Intelligence Activity (NIA)/Special Security Office utilizing security policy and directives pertaining to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) personnel, industrial, information, and physical security to assist with coordinating the physical protection of sensitive or classified information, personnel, facilities, resources, processes, or other sensitive materials. Responsibilities You will interpret policy guidance and appropriately apply it to complete tasks as assigned. You will review requests for security clearances and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access. You will develop and implement procedures for process improvement in the management of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) personnel security functions. You will process Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) paperwork to include the E-QIP process. You will analyze inspection results and recommend changes to policies and procedures. You will maintain integrity and protection of highly sensitive information programs under the physical security cognizance of the SSO Navy Regional Offices. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting physical and technical security inspections. Participating in policy reviews and maintaining personnel security databases. Delivering high-quality products and services with commitment to continuous improvement. Monitoring progress and evaluating outcomes to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Interpreting and applying technical rules, regulations, and instructions. OR Completion of two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree. OR Completion of a LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled. OR You have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Your percentage of the required education plus your percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent. Additional Information This position is designated as a Security Professional Education Development (SPēD) position with a Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) requirement. The SFPC is a DON baseline certification for security workforce employees that support/execute security programs that focus predominantly on the protection of, or vetting the access to, sensitive and/or classified information. The incumbent must obtain certification within 24 months of assuming the position. SPēD certification/s must be maintained and undergo renewal process every two years in accordance with SECNAVINST 5500.38.
