Ford Motor Company Senior Tax Specialist in Naucalpan de Juárez, Mexico

Responsibilities for Internal Candidates:

Indirect Tax Compliance & Advisory:

o Lead the preparation, review, and timely filing of all Mexican indirect tax returns (e.g., VAT), ensuring accuracy and full compliance.

o Oversee VAT account reconciliations and ensure proper determination of input and output VAT.

o Monitor and interpret changes in Mexican indirect tax legislation and proactively assess and communicate their impact to the business.

o Provide technical guidance on VAT treatment for complex and cross-border transactions (imports, exports, intercompany services).

o Manage interactions with tax authorities, including leading audit processes and responding to inquiries.

o Ensure full compliance with e-invoicing (CFDI) and other digital tax obligations, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions where needed.

Tax Cash Back Claims (Leadership & Execution):

o Lead the preparation, review, and submission of tax refund claims, ensuring completeness and technical support of documentation.

o Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and success rates of refund claims.

Direct Tax Coordination:

o Support and review the preparation of the annual income tax return and related schedules.

o Oversee estimated income tax calculations and ensure alignment with financial projections.

o Maintain and apply a solid understanding of Mexican income tax law in coordination with the broader tax strategy.

Process Improvement & Stakeholder Management:

o Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, controls, and documentation.

o Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders (Accounting, Legal, Purchasing, Operations) on tax-related matters.

o Mentor and support the development of junior team members.

4 Days On Site GTBC Ford México. (Naucalpan, México)

Qualifications for Internal Candidates:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience: 6+ years of progressive experience in tax, with a strong focus on Mexican indirect taxes.

Skills:

o Deep knowledge of Mexican VAT law and regulatory framework.

o Solid understanding of Mexican income tax law.

o Proven experience with cross-border transactions and international tax implications.

o Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving capabilities.

o High attention to detail with the ability to manage complex tasks independently.

o Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical matters to non-tax stakeholders.

o Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).

Language: Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken) is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

o Master’s degree in Taxation or related field.

o Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

o CPA or equivalent professional certification.
