Job Summary and Qualifications
Provide technical skills that cover a broad range of disciplines in basic windows platform knowledge that could be applicable to the HCA environment. Knowledge would be preferred in data protection but lack of that is acceptable as it can be taught on the job.
Have the capability to Identify, investigate, evaluate and become proficient in new technologies and technical disciplines that are of significance to the HCA Healthcare Mainframe environment.
Analytical, detailed and design ability with a degree of creativity; general knowledge of usage and impact of data protection, failure, or prevention, is required for this position. Candidate must be self-driven with an ability to pick up training or issues quickly that are needed to be a success while having good project planning skills and decent communication skills.
An Intern Systems Programmer - Mainframe will be responsible for assisting in the administration and management of various mainframe systems software products. Primary duties will include administration of the existing software and hardware in the mainframe environment, technical documentation, engineering, issue resolution, and technical presentations. Specific responsibilities include installation of software products to include third party software, IBM operating system installation and customization where applicable, troubleshoot, coordinate, assist and advise in recovery from component failures of supported systems.
While the Intern Systems Programmer – Mainframe will require some cross-platform knowledge, the candidate should expect a primary focus in technologies including the IBM z/OS mainframe, and mainframe storage and tape systems.

Monitor systems and identify issues that need to be resolved in systems assigned.
Documents IT&S mainframe processes and procedures as needed.
Perform implementations for multiple hardware and software products to ensure interoperability.
Become familiar with afterhours support - on-call rotation
Participate in Day to Day troubleshooting of process and systems failures, including software and hardware technology issues.
Utilizing Automation tools to streamline processes.
Opening problem tickets with appropriate vendors and working to resolution.
What qualifications you will need:
Associates Degree required Bachelor's Degree preferred
Less than one year experience
Other/Special Qualifications

No previous systems software experience required
Knowledge of standard windows operation systems and functions.
Knowledge of standard networking & TCPIP / DNS
