TEKsystems Electronic Security Service Technician in Nashville, Tennessee
We are seeking an experienced Electronic Security Service Technician to perform routine and emergency service calls across multi‑family residential properties and small to mid‑size commercial buildings in the Nashville area. This role focuses on servicing, replacing, and troubleshooting electronic security systems with minimal supervision.
The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with Alarm.com‑based platforms (including Qolsys and 2GIG), strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage field documentation, time tracking, and customer interaction independently.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform routine and emergency service calls for electronic security systems
Troubleshoot, replace, and repair malfunctioning or inoperative equipment
Service and support systems using Alarm.com, Qolsys, and 2GIG platforms
Conduct system testing and signal verification
Provide customer instruction on system operation and functionality
Maintain accurate documentation of service activity, time worked, and locations serviced
Manage basic vehicle inventory (tools and parts) to support daily service calls
Utilize technical documentation, schematics, and testing equipment to complete work efficiently
Provide assistance, coaching, or guidance to less experienced technicians when needed
Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience servicing electronic security or low voltage systems
Demonstrated experience installing or servicing Qolsys / 2GIG / Alarm.com systems
Strong troubleshooting skills with basic electronic and security system components
Proficiency using test equipment, including multimeters
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation in English
Detail‑oriented with accurate timekeeping and service documentation practices
Reliable personal vehicle for traveling between job sites
Must supply basic hand tools, including hand tools and a drill with screwdriver bits
Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications
Experience servicing:
CCTV systems
Access control systems
Fire or intrusion alarm systems
Intercom systems
Working knowledge of applicable local and national codes
Work Environment & Schedule
Service work performed in:
Multi‑family residential communities
Small to medium commercial buildings
Typical schedule: Monday – Friday, approximately 9:00 or 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM
On‑call availability required as assigned
Time is tracked when arriving on site
Mileage logged and reimbursed between job sites according to company policy
Dress code: jeans and collared shirt (company‑provided shirts available after assignment period)
Recognized banking holidays observed
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, reach, and work with hands and arms for extended periods
Ability to work in confined or elevated spaces such as ladders, ceilings, crawl spaces, and lifts
Ability to lift and carry equipment up to approximately 50 pounds
Ability to drive for extended periods between service locations

This is a Contract position based out of Nashville, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
