Nashville Center for Rehabilitation and Healing is seeking an energetic and compassionate Director of Recreation to lead our activities department and enhance the quality of life for our residents through engaging, meaningful, and therapeutic programming.
Position Summary
The Director of Recreation is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing a comprehensive recreation and activities program that meets the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs of our residents in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Director of Recreation Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a diverse recreation and activities program for residents
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for resident activities
Supervise, train, and schedule recreation staff and volunteers
Conduct resident assessments and create individualized activity care plans
Coordinate special events, outings, and community partnerships
Maintain accurate documentation and activity records
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to support resident goals and well-being
Manage department budget, supplies, and equipment
Director of Recreation Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field preferred
CTRS, ADC, or equivalent certification preferred
Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or healthcare setting required
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Knowledge of resident-centered care and regulatory standards
