Description
We are looking for a skilled Purchase Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Naperville, Illinois. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring our manufacturing operations run seamlessly by sourcing quality materials and managing supplier relationships. Your expertise in procurement and negotiation will support our commitment to delivering exceptional products to our customers.
Responsibilities:
• Source and secure raw materials, components, and equipment that align with manufacturing specifications and quality standards.
• Negotiate competitive pricing, delivery terms, and contracts with suppliers to maximize cost efficiencies.
• Maintain and manage purchase orders in procurement systems, ensuring timely updates and accuracy.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to anticipate material needs and troubleshoot supply challenges.
• Assess supplier performance using key metrics such as quality, on-time delivery, and responsiveness.
• Identify and onboard new suppliers to enhance supply chain resilience and diversity.
• Monitor market trends, pricing, and material availability to mitigate potential supply risks.
• Utilize project management tools and systems to streamline procurement activities and improve workflow efficiency.
The salary range for this position is $25.00 to $30.00 an hour. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement or purchasing within a manufacturing setting.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and cultivate strong supplier relationships.
• Proficiency in procurement systems such as Epicor, Oracle NetSuite, or similar platforms, along with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with metals and bulk material ordering processes.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail, with a problem-solving mindset.
• Prior experience in laser technology or precision manufacturing is a plus.
