Town of Nantucket Human Resources Generalist in Nantucket, Massachusetts
The Town of Nantucket is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Human Resources Generalist to support the daily operations of the Human Resources Department. This position performs a broad range of administrative, financial, and employee support functions and plays an integral role in maintaining HRIS systems, personnel records, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include processing bi-weekly accounts payable and requisitions; preparing and submitting payroll transmittals; maintaining and updating employee records within the HRIS; processing personnel actions and employment status changes; supporting benefits administration, including open enrollment and wellness initiatives; responding to employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner; assisting with policy distribution and compliance documentation; and maintaining current knowledge of applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations. Qualifications Qualified candidates must possess an Associate?s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, along with two to four years of progressively responsible administrative or human resources experience, preferably within a municipal or public sector environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with financial or records management systems are preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with a strong customer service orientation, are essential. Position Details 40 hours per week; Non-Union. Compensation commensurate with experience: \$30.90 - \$42.48 Retirement pension through Barnstable County Retirement. 90% employer-sponsored health insurance plan options.
