POSITION SUMMARY:\ The principal function of an employee in this class is to haul biosolids and assist in maintaining, services, and repairs a variety of mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment at the City\'s Wastewater Plant to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. The work is performed under the supervision and direction of the maintenance supervisor, but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. This class is distinguished from the class of WWTP Mechanic I by the primary functions of biosolids hauling. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with the assigned supervisor, other City employees, and the general public. The principal duties of this class are performed in a wastewater treatment plant environment, which included exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme heights, and dangerous machinery.\ \
