TRIDENT SEAFOODS CORPORATION REFRIGERATION OPERATOR II in Naknek, Alaska
Summary:
The Refrigeration Operator II is expected to maintain optimal operation of industrial refrigeration systems and associated equipment. This will be achieved by following operating procedures, planning/performing preventative maintenance,
documenting inspections and rounds during operation, and close collaboration with the QA/QC team to maintain acceptable temperatures for all product types. This position works in a fast-paced environment with a proactive approach to ensure continuity of operations.
Expected equipment to service are as follows; Control system (Manual and Computerized), Plate Freezers, Blast Freezers, Tunnel Freezers, Spiral Freezers, Compressors, Condensers, Purgers, Pumps, RSW Chillers, Ice Machines, and Cooler units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the system following plant operating and maintenance procedures.
- Perform in scheduled Mechanical Integrity Inspections, weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.
- Ensure daily system logs are being performed.
- Plan/Perform routine, pre/post season maintenance, and repair with either contractors or Refrigeration Technicians.
- Gather pre/post season parts/ supply inventories.
- Train Operator 1s and Refrigeration Assistants in day-to-day activities.
- Identify issues or problems and escalate as needed, according to troubleshooting procedures and processes.
- Review and understand technical bulletins, service documents, and system schematics.
- Other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in Tridents PSM program performing repair records, engaging in meetings, and engage in further training.
- Acquires knowledge of Tridents Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
- Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

Minimum Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of 3-6+ years of Industrial or Commercial Refrigeration Experience (Freon or Ammonia)., or substitute of 2 years experience as a Refrigeration Operator 1
- HS Diploma or equivalent, or training in a Refrigeration Technical Program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification: Refrigerating Engineers and Technicians Association (RETA): Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO), or equivalent;MUST be able to obtain within one year of employmentas provided by Trident Seafoods.
- EPA Section 608 Universal Certification is optional, but not required.
- 24-Hour HAZWOPER certification.

- Able to carry oneself in a professional manner away from work, representing Trident on and off the clock.
- Strong work ethic, with prompt and reliable attendance, ability to work well under pressure repeatedly for 12+ hrs. a day, 7 days a week.
- Must have the flexibility to work fluctuating shifts structured around a 24-hr production schedule as needed.
- Willingness to take on new tasks to assist the team and grow ones mechanical knowledge of the facility.
Special Training/Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to supervisor and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using who e numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Living quarters are provided in Trident facilities; group housing (dorm style living) upon necessity.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
