Position Summary
The Commis III – Bakery supports the daily bakery operations by preparing and baking food items according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines. This role ensures proper food preparation, hygiene, safety, and sanitation practices are followed at all times while maintaining consistency in product quality and portion control. The Commis III works closely with the bakery and kitchen team to contribute to smooth operations and high-quality food production.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook bakery products in accordance with standard recipes, food preparation checklists, and quality and presentation standards.
Prepare ingredients for baking, including measuring, portioning, chopping, mixing, and storing food items properly prior to use.
Safely and correctly operate baking equipment, measuring tools, kitchen appliances, and utensils required for bakery production.
Monitor and ensure correct temperatures of ovens, refrigerators, freezers, and prepared food items; report any equipment or temperature issues to management promptly.
Follow and ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and handling policies, including personal hygiene and grooming standards.
Wash, disinfect, and maintain cleanliness of kitchen and bakery areas; set up and break down workstations according to sanitation procedures.
Monitor the quality, freshness, and portioning of bakery items throughout the shift and ensure consistency in output.
Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety, security, and food quality standards.
Perform other reasonable job-related duties as assigned by Supervisors or Management.

Qualifications & Experience
Certificate or Diploma in Bakery, Culinary Arts, or related field (preferred).
Basic knowledge of baking techniques, food preparation methods, portion control, and presentation standards.
Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment.
Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks for extended periods.
Must have legal working rights in Fiji.
