Amazon is seeking a talented and motivated Electromechanical Engineer to design, integrate and launch novel robotics. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electromechanical packaging, thermal management, and mechanism design. This candidate must have the ability to work well both independently and in a multidisciplinary team setting.
Key job responsibilities
Author functional requirements, design verification plans and test procedures
Execute product designs which meet the requirements
Build and test mechanical subsystem prototypes and integrated systems
Support product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments
Work efficiently to support rapid schedules
Basic Qualifications
BS degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD experience and understanding of best practices for part design, and advanced assemblies
Experience with DFx (Design for cost, test, manufacturing)
Experience communicating to senior management and customers verbally and in writing
Experience working in an Agile environment
10+ years of experience designing electromechanical enclosures and integrating mechanisms into robotics systems
Expert thermal management of densely packed electromechanical systems
Deep understanding of component capacities and life estimation given highly variable operating trajectories
Hands on experience building prototypes and debugging subsystems
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools
Experience with the project management of technical projects
Experience in launching new products
Demonstrated experience collaborating with Electrical and Controls engineers
Proficiency documenting designs in accordance with ANSI Y-14.5
Experience designing and debugging tooled (sheetmetal, cast, injection molded, etc) components
Ability to support domestic and international travel as required by the program
Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management PLM software and ECO’s

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
