Description

The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, and ensuring the reliable operation of computer systems, servers, and networks. They will install hardware and software, manage user access, and perform regular system backups and recovery. They will monitor system performance, address any issues that arise, and implement solutions to improve efficiency and security. Additionally, the Senior Systems Administrator will collaborate with other IT staff to support various technology projects and initiatives, ensuring that all systems function smoothly and securely to meet the organization's needs.

Essential Functions

  • System & Software Management: Direct the installing and configuration of new hardware and software. Coordinate deployment and management of software applications across the organization. Plan and execute system and software upgrades. Integrate new technologies and systems with existing infrastructure. Monitor and manage storage resources and capacities. - Firewall, Cloud, Email, Storage.

  • Access Control: Administer the creation, management, and removal user accounts and permissions.

  • System Maintenance & Patch Management: Coordinate system updates and maintenance tasks.

  • Network Configuration: Govern the set up and management of local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs).

  • Hardware Management & Capacity Planning: Handle maintenance on servers, computers, and other hardware. Plan for system capacity and scalability to meet future demands.

  • Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Oversee the resolve of hardware, software, and network issues. Respond to and manage system and network incidents.

  • Security Management: Manage implementation and monitoring of security measures to protect data and systems.

  • Backup & Recovery: Responsible for planning and executing data backup and recovery procedures. Develop and implement disaster recovery plans.

  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor system performance and optimize configurations.

  • Network Security: Monitor and secure network traffic against unauthorized access and attacks.

  • System Audits & Compliance: Ensures regular system audits are conducted to ensure optimal performance and security. Ensure systems comply with organizational policies and industry regulations.

  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, changes, and incidents.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Administration or related field with 6+ years Systems Adminsitration experience or equivalent.

  • Masters Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Administration or related field with 4+ years Systems Adminsitration experience or equivalent.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills

  • Advanced knowledge with systems administration tasks, such as user account management and basic troubleshooting
