Village at the Oaks provides assisted living, independent living, and memory care in a beautiful Muskegon campus, offering comprehensive senior care with a focus on independence, dignity, and resident engagement .
Position Summary
The Nurse Supervisor oversees nursing operations, leads clinical staff, and ensures high-quality, compliant resident care across all shifts. This role reports to the Wellness Director or Nurse Manager and supports a collaborative, shared-governance culture.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
Supervise and mentor nursing personnel (LPNs, Med Techs, CNAs).
Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to drive excellence.
Resident Care & Clinical Oversight
Monitor resident health status, interpret clinical data, and ensure appropriate interventions.
Administer treatments or delegate appropriately; collaborate with healthcare providers for optimal outcomes.
Administrative Duties & Compliance
Manage scheduling, track staffing coverage, and control departmental budgets.
Maintain regulatory compliance with state/federal assisted living standards, including record-keeping, incident reporting, and audits.
Operational Support
Coordinate shift handoffs; address urgent and after-hours nursing needs.
Respond to escalations in patient care and emergencies; ensure documentation accuracy.
Culture & Quality Improvement
Lead by example with compassionate, resident-focused care.
Promote continuous improvement through safety initiatives, staff engagement, and quality audits.
Qualifications
Valid Michigan LPN license (unencumbered).
Minimum 2 years of practical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
Proficient communication, interpersonal, and critical-thinking skills.
Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage crises calmly.
CPR/BLS certification.
Physical ability for clinical duties (standing, lifting, moving residents).
Passion for elderly care, informed by company mission and Catholic healthcare values.
