Position Summary:
Provides consistent leadership of nursing personnel and supports patient focused collaborative care in a shared governance environment. Responsible for coordinating, facilitating and integrating the optimal provision of service on each unit. In conjunction with this, other responsibilities include providing clinical expertise coaching/mentoring of staff and customer service. Assumes responsibility for the nursing units when Clinical Managers are not present.
What the ED Supervisor will need:
Graduate of an accreditedschool of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursingpreferred.
RN Licensed to practice in theState of Michigan.
Two years' experience as RN Staff Nurse with demonstrated leadership required,preferably work experienceconcurrently in appropriatespecialty area.
Abilitytomeet allbehaviors of the RN StaffNurse Job description.
Ongoing continuing education requiredwith national certification preferred.
BLS certification and required CEUs for re- licensure.
What the ED Supervisor will do:
Actively supports the organizational and unit strategic goals, programsand activities.
Coordinates the provision of patient focused care in collaboration with all members of the interdisciplinary team.
Provides clinical leadership related to thedevelopment, use and evaluation of caremanagement tools.
Facilitates the use of the Customer QualityImprovement (CQI) process for the identificationof opportunities to improvethe unit caredeliveryprocess with development of appropriate plants to implement the changes to that process.
Developsdaily staffing plans that support theoptimum provision of service in accordance withquality, budget and regulatory requirements.
Monitors daily staffing plans to identify and resolve variances related to productivity.Providesappropriate support to staff in responseto changes inthe unit workload, patientcensusand acuity.
Demonstrates excellentcommunication skills for problem resolution, conflict resolution and conflict management with customers and team members.
