BIOFIRE DEFENSE Lab Technician in MURRAY, Utah
Position Summary:
This is a full-time non-exempt position.
Able to operate production lab equipment specific to the bioreagents lab, i.e HPLC, LCMS, Biomek, Freeze-Driers. Performs duties and assigned tasks under compliance of cGMP manufacturing guidelines. Weighs, measures, pipettes, and checks raw materials to assure that manufactured buffer, buffer sub-assemblies, oligos, oligo sub-assemblies, and positive external controls contain the proper ingredients and quantities. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures including PCR, RT-PCR real-time PCR, and use of fluorescence based nucleic acid detection techniques. Is mathematically competent, able to follow written directions accurately with the level of detail required to meet quality requirements and product specifications while exhibits a high level of organizational proficiency. Works under the immediate supervision of the BioReagents Supervisor and reports to the BioReagents Production Manager.
Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BioFire Defense's Quality System.
2. Responsible for wet reagent formulations, buffer sub-assemblies, oligo production, oligo sub-assemblies, and positive formulations.
3. Operates reagent specific lab equipment to complete job task and work centers.
4. Maintains records in compliance with regulatory requirements, cGMP, work instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures(SOP).
5. Follow instructions and pre-established written guidelines to perform job functions.
6. Responsible for maintaining clean room environment of formulation labs, biochemistry labs, positive external control lab, and associated spaces.
7. Works under immediate supervision of the BioReagents Supervisor and reports to the BioReagents Production Manager.
8. Performs additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Training and Education: (Minimum education and/or training requirements for this position; i.e., high school diploma, college degree, certification)
Minimum-Actively enrolled in 2-year degree in science field with +1 years scientific/laboratory experience.
Preferred but not required experience:
· Experience in a medical device production environment.
· Knowledge of FDA and/or GMP regulations.
Associates degree in a scientific field or equivalent. 2+ scientific/laboratory experience. 1+ years cGMP
Skills: (Special skills required; e.g., negotiation, technical writing; statistical evaluation)
Be able to safely lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs.
Standard for periods of 3 hrs or more.
