Actalent Engineering Test Technician in Murphy, North Carolina
Description
Position Overview: The Engineering Technologist will play a crucial role in our test lab, focusing on electrical engineering tasks, troubleshooting, and programming. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with a preference for candidates holding a 4-year degree in Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct EMI testing and operate test equipment such as oscilloscopes and similar devices.
• Perform functional testing and use soldering irons to troubleshoot circuits.
• Read and interpret circuit boards and schematics.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and implement testing protocols.
• Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure accurate results.
• Document test procedures and results, providing detailed reports to the engineering team.
• The technician will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining test systems using LabVIEW
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with test system and equipment.
• Documenting engineered systems for clients and engineers
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a test lab environment.
• Associate degree with relevant experience or a 4-year degree in Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles.
• Strong understanding of test equipment and methodologies
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and programming with LabVIEW.
• Experience with EMI testing and operating test equipment like oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Function Generators, Signal generators, data generators, etc.
• Ability to use soldering irons and troubleshoot circuits effectively.
• Functional testing experience is highly valuable.
• Ability to read and interpret circuit boards and schematics.

Need to be able to pick up and use a soldering iron - MINI DEMO WILL BE A PART OF ONSITE
Test equipment experience is needed - Oscilloscopes, multimeters, functional and signal generators.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $41.00/hr.
