Amazon Sr. Risk Manager, Central Compliance in Munich, Germany
Description
The Central Compliance team is seeking a Senior Risk Manager to join the Last Mile organization. In this role, you will own regulatory compliance for third-party suppliers delivering within the EU's Last Mile programs. You will collaborate with audit and analyst functions across EU and global teams to develop compelling narratives that drive innovative solutions and new business concepts. Working closely with DSP team leaders, you will design and implement programs, projects, and processes across multiple organizations.
Key job responsibilities
• Conduct compliance vetting of third-party carriers during onboarding across Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands
• Provide strategic risk guidance by recommending risk mitigation opportunities to leadership based on established risk tolerances
• Develop operational expertise in processes and controls supporting all compliance programs
• Drive integrated compliance frameworks by linking policies, SOPs, internal controls, monitoring, and reporting to enhance operations and risk management
• Influence cross-functional stakeholders across Amazon by challenging proposed solutions and advocating for customer-centric outcomes
• Perform root cause analysis by challenging assumptions about process or service failures to identify underlying issues
• Identify systemic risks by analyzing data trends and themes, then collaborating with team leaders to develop actionable remediation plans
• Deliver comprehensive reporting on root causes and process gaps to diverse stakeholders
• Build strategic partnerships with multiple teams across Amazon to drive effective resolution activities
• Serve as a business line expert by developing deep functional knowledge and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to create solutions that balance business needs with company-wide benefits
Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Experience developing and implementing of standards, policies and programs or equivalent
Experience in compliance, audit or risk management
Speak, write, and read fluently in German
Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
