The QMS Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving the organization's Quality Management System in alignment with ISO 9001, AAR M-1003, and other applicable global rail industry standards. This role ensures the organization consistently meets customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements by driving continuous improvement initiatives, coordinating audits, and ensuring documentation accuracy across global operations.

Key Job Elements:

QMS Development & Maintenance

• Maintain and continuously improve the company’s Quality Management System in alignment with ISO 9001, AAR M-1003, and relevant customer or industry standards.

• Coordinate the development, review, and revision of QMS documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and records.

• Ensure effective document control and compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.

• Support the transition, integration, and harmonization of quality systems across multiple sites or regions.

Audit & Compliance

• Plan, execute, and report on internal audits per ISO 9001 and AAR M-1003 requirements.

• Support and coordinate external audits from customers, certification bodies, and regulatory agencies.

• Maintain & track audit findings, implement corrective actions, and verify effectiveness.

• Ensure timely closure of audit findings and continuous improvement.

Training & Awareness

• Provide QMS-related training and awareness sessions to employees at all levels.

• Promote quality awareness and a culture of continuous improvement.

• Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for ISO 9001 and AAR M-1003 requirements within the organization.

Continuous Improvement & Performance Monitoring

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and work cross-functionally to implement best practices.

• Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes.

• Monitor and analyze quality KPIs to ensure targets are met and sustained.

• Regulatory & Industry Standards

• Stay current with changes in ISO 9001, AAR M-1003, and other rail industry standards.

• Ensure the organization’s QMS remains compliant with evolving requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Quality Management or QMS coordination within the rail industry, manufacturing, or related regulated sectors.

• Proven experience with ISO 9001:2015 implementation, maintenance, and auditing.

• Strong knowledge of AAR M-1003 quality system requirements.

• Familiarity with global rail standards (e.g., EN 15085, IRIS/ISO TS 22163, or similar) is a strong asset.

• Certified Internal or Lead Auditor (ISO 9001 and/or AAR M-1003).

• Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent continuous improvement training.

• AAR Quality System training or certification.
