In India, we are present in five locations and operate as BA Continuum India Private Limited (BACI), a non-banking subsidiary of Bank of America Corporation and the operating company for India operations of Global Business Services.

Process Overview*

ECM is a global team of more than 100 professionals responsible for the efficient and prudent management of the Corporation's as well as its subsidiaries' capital across the enterprise globally. ECM implements the Board’s capital management strategy including issuance, redemption or repurchase of common stock and other capital instruments. ECM works closely with lines of business and guides them to efficiently and proactively manage the enterprise's capital including design and implementation of capital allocation methodologies. ECM also recommends capital related financial resource limits to senior management. In addition, ECM produces and monitors regulatory capital metrics including capital adequacy ratios, leverage exposure and risk-weighted assets and oversees the end to end capital measurement process across the enterprise. Partnering with other control functions, ECM manages external disclosures related to capital management including 10Q, 10K, Pillar 3 disclosures and other regulatory filings‎. ECM interfaces with banking regulators globally on all capital related matters.

In our rapidly changing banking environment the individual in this role will be expected to maintain policies and procedures for capital reporting as well have capital production responsibilities. They will learn to identify opportunities to enhance tools and processes and create documentation supporting those enhancements. The ability to coordinate projects to bring about change in processes and procedures, quantify the results of such change and communicate these enhancements across ECM, Technology and Compliance is important. Strong quantitative, analytic and communication skills as well as familiarity with banking products are needed.

Job Description*

The role is part of the Enterprise Capital Management (ECM) team and assists in driving complex market risk calculations and reporting of capital for Global Markets transactions, including consideration of any new regulations, timely and accurate preparation of the company’s regulatory capital results; research causes of unanticipated capital changes; end-to-end review, analysis, and ad-hoc analytical reporting to senior management and regulatory agencies. Success requires understanding of regulatory capital rules and the ability to formulate means by which answers may be derived from large sets of data.

As part of the responsibilities of the role, the teammate will develop business partner relationships within ECM, e.g. various workstreams, ECM Technology, Quality Assurance, Capital Risk and Internal/External audit. Throughout the tenure of the role, the teammate will gain exposure and understanding in Basel 3 Capital Calculations for the Corporation, and develop/improve the following skills: communication and project coordination, time management.

Responsibilities*

  • Produces and monitors market risk risk-weighted assets (RWA) metrics and reports

  • Be responsible for investigating and explaining period over period capital movements

  • Build relationships with partners and ensure appropriate level of capital knowledge

  • Foster relationships with partners in capital management, business and finance to resolve capital questions, provide data as necessary with great attention to detail

  • Be responsible for directing calculation, reporting and/or analysis activities to support the Bank's Capital Initiatives. Activities may include analyzing regulatory capital results; working with technology team to implement solution, and perform testing

Foundational skills*

  • Strong understanding of Basel capital requirements and financials, preferably in a US bank setting

  • Experience and exposure to markets risk RWA calculations or FRTB quantitative modelling

  • Knowledge of derivative products and risk management

  • Knowledge of SQL, Python or AI/ML

  • Proven track record of clear and concise verbal and written communication, comfortable escalating issues to management

  • Intellectual curiosity, regularly asking questions to enable rapid learning of a complex topic.

  • Self-starter with ability to be proactive and well organized.

  • Flexibility in joining meetings during US time zone hours.

  • Experience in a relevant role in a financial institution.

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Prior experience working in accounting or financial services

  • Analytical abilities/financial acumen/problem solving skills

  • Strong control mindset including ability to identify risks and build and maintain associated controls

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment
