Job Summary:
The Project Commercialization Manager is responsible for leading end to end commercialization of new products, product changes, and strategic initiatives from concept through successful market launch and post launch optimization. The role drives cross functional collaboration across supply chain, R&D, marketing, sales, finance, regulatory and operations teams to ensure timely, cost effective and compliant delivery of projects.
This role acts as the central program owner who synchronizes stakeholders, manages timelines, mitigates risks, and ensures that all operational, commercial, and regulatory requirements are met to support business growth, margin improvement, and successful product launches.
Operating in a dynamic and matrix environment, the Project Commercialization Manager balances strategic oversight with hands-on project execution while ensuring alignment with overall business strategy and operational readiness.
How you will contribute
1. End to End Product Commercialization
Lead the full commercialization lifecycle for new products, packaging changes, product renovations, and strategic initiatives from early concept through successful market launch.
Drive commercialization planning across multiple functions ensuring alignment with product strategy, brand positioning, pricing, and distribution plans.
Ensure successful transition of projects through defined stage gate processes while meeting all technical, commercial, regulatory and operational requirements.
Manage post launch monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize product performance and supply chain efficiency.
2. Project Management & Execution
Lead projects from opportunity assessment through execution using structured project management frameworks and governance processes.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans including scope, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements.
Track project progress, manage dependencies and ensure alignment across cross functional teams.
Organize and facilitate project reviews, stage gate meetings, and leadership updates.
Ensure project documentation, governance compliance, and adherence to internal project management methodologies.
Manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast paced environment while maintaining execution discipline
3. Cross Functional Leadership
Act as the central liaison between key business functions including:
Marketing and Sales
Research & Development
Supply Chain (Procurement, Manufacturing, Planning, Logistics)
Finance
Regulatory and Quality
Commercial Operations
External partners and suppliers
Others
Drive alignment across stakeholders, ensure clarity of responsibilities and enable effective decision making across teams.
Build strong working relationships across functions to accelerate project execution and ensure accountability.
4. Supply Chain & Operational Readiness
Partner with supply chain teams to ensure end to end operational readiness for product launches.
Validate manufacturing capacity, production scheduling, inventory readiness, and distribution plans.
Coordinate procurement, supplier readiness, raw material availability, and manufacturing capabilities to support project timelines.
Ensure first production runs, plant readiness, packaging readiness, and distribution network alignment prior to launch.
Identify operational risks and develop mitigation plans to avoid disruptions during commercialization.
5. Risk Management & Governance
Identify project risks, resource constraints, and operational challenges early in the project lifecycle.
Develop mitigation plans, contingency strategies, and escalation mechanisms to manage risks effectively.
Maintain visibility on project critical paths and proactively address bottlenecks.
Ensure governance through stage gate processes, leadership reporting and compliance with internal policies and procedures.
6. Commercial Strategy & Business Planning
Support development of commercialization strategies including market positioning, pricing strategy, channel strategy, and product roadmap.
Contribute to business planning, cost modelling, and financial evaluation of projects including ROI and profitability analysis.
Support proposal development, commercial evaluations, contract negotiations, and vendor management where required.
Ensure commercial models accurately reflect expected business outcomes and strategic objectives.
7. Stakeholder Communication & Leadership Reporting
Lead regular cross functional project meetings to track progress and ensure alignment.
Provide clear and structured project updates to senior leadership including:
Project timelines and milestones
Critical path analysis
Risk assessment and mitigation plans
Financial and operational implications
Communicate effectively across internal stakeholders, leadership teams, and external partners to ensure transparency and informed decision making.
8. Market Intelligence & Innovation
Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, consumer behavior and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities.
Support innovation initiatives and product development strategies aligned with market needs.
Leverage insights from market feedback and performance metrics to refine commercialization strategies and product offerings.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, or related field.
MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) is desirable.
Experience
Typically, 5 to 8 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas:
Supply Chain Management
Project or Program Management
Product Commercialization
Operations or Manufacturing
Product Development or New Product Introduction (NPI)
Experience managing cross functional initiatives is preferred.
Tools & Systems
Experience with project management and enterprise systems such as:
Microsoft Project or similar project management tools
SAP or other ERP platforms
Data analysis and reporting tools
