WSP USA Principal Engineer - Control System in Mumbai, India
WSP India is currently looking for a talented PrincipalControl System Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and implementation of control systems for our AU mining projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Rockwell and Schneider PLCs, as well as expertise in various SCADA systems. The position will be for BANGLORE/MUMBAI/NOIDA location.

The Principal Control System Engineer shall have experience mainly in PLC Software and SCADA Development in Oil & Gas, Power Plants or metal/mineral processing plant and will be responsible for the following minimum services:
Design, develop, and implement control systems based on project and client requirements.
Lead basic, FEED, and detailed engineering for control and automation systems.
Develop Control Philosophy, Cause & Effect diagrams, and system architecture.
Prepare and review FDS, HDS, and SDS documents.
Design and implement DCS, PLC, and SIS logic for process control, ESD, and F&G; systems.
Integrate third-party packages such as compressors, pumps, and analysers.
Execute the project’s design and testing activities as per the schedule and within the Budget.
Collaborate with other engineers internally, AU team leads and deliver outputs as per the project schedule.
Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure functionality and reliability.
Conduct regular maintenance and updates to control systems as needed.
Provide technical support to clients and internal teams.
Lead and support FAT, SAT, loop checking, commissioning, and startup activities.
Stay informed about industry trends and advancements to propose innovative solutions.
Key Competencies / Skills
The Control Systems Engineer shall have the technical skills and competencies:
Strong Experience in PLC software development and testing. Specific experience with Allen-Bradley or Schneider PLCs is required.
Strong experience in SCADA & HMI software development. Specific experience with FactoryTalk View or Citect SCADA is required.
Strong technical background in Control Systems for Oil & Gas, Power Plants or Mining/mineral processing plants.
Experience in bench and site-based testing and providing operational support services.
Good understanding of the control system components and how they interact.
Ability to develop and review P&ID, electrical schematics and Logic Diagrams.
Ability to review, understand and provide feedback on control systems designs produced by others
Ability to understand, verify, analyse & implement design modification requests
Ability to maintain documentation for engineering designs, drawings and technical data as per company procedures/standards.
Excellent skills at data set processing, manipulation and transformation
Knowledge of Process control networks and architecture
The Control Systems Engineer shall also have the following general skills\competencies:
Excellent skill in English verbal and written communication.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Capable of multi-tasking and managing multiple projects with the ability to accurately predict the time required to complete deliverables.
Experience in participation in meetings with Client and Contractors
A Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Control System Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering OR Electronics Engineering is essential. A master’s degree in engineering is advantageous.
At least 13-16 years proven industry experience in control systems integration.
Professional Membership of relevant professional bodies is desirable.
