Citigroup Banking Support Intermediate Analyst – Officer in Mumbai, India
The M&A Business Analyst is required to source, analyze and organize / present M&A information in a thoughtfully approached manner. The analyst needs to be focused on the subject and is expected to prepare client ready outputs on a broad range of M&A topics. The work includes populating / analyzing large datasets, creating/updating presentations, and ad-hoc projects in a high-pressure environment. The data is used in revenue generation for the M&A business, client presentations by the investment bank and onsite / offsite discussions by M&A heads. The role requires the candidate to interact directly with the New York team and hence requires good written and verbal communication skills. The job entails effectively having a strong understanding of the M&A market, being able to comprehend / interpret the required information and summarizing / presenting it in an organized manner, as a client-ready output. The analyst is required to work closely with partners in the New York / London offices with a focused approach on quality of the output. They are expected to partner with the larger team to help track Citi's performance in the market against our key competitors.
Core Responsibilities:
Preparation of client ready thematic materials
Engaging with Deal Teams in a Pre pitch environment to help produce bespoke content highlighting Citi's performance
Post Deal Analysis of different types of M&A i.e. Hostile, Going private, Competing Bids, etc.
Provide daily leads to bankers globally by identifying mandates and new business opportunities in the public domain
Maintain proprietary information on M&A trends in Sector/Region
Partner with global M&A business execution colleagues on strategic initiatives to drive Citi's performance
Prepare M&A information leads for global business heads and senior management
Source M&A information and provide insights on various trends and themes in the market
Create and update client ready presentations
Analysis of M&A information as a derivative to other M&A related materials
Manage and track M&A missed deals to improve Citi M&A's wallet share
Key Skills Required :
Analytical skills: To interpret, analyse, summarize, and present information
Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word applications
Exposure and prior experience with Business Intelligence Tools such as Tableau, Power BI etc.
Good understanding of Investment Banking and specifically M&A
Research Skills: To source, read and comprehend information on M&A deals
Knowledge of Financial terms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail & ability to take sound judgment
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
Respect for information confidentiality
Qualifications:
• 4+ years of experience in a related role in the Investment Banking or Financial Services Industry
