In the Xbox Developer organization, we aim to empower game creators to realize their vision and bring their games to Xbox players across Console, PC, and Cloud Gaming. The Trials and Incubation team is building innovative, friction-free ways for players to engage with the Xbox ecosystem to drive increased engagement, enjoyment, and play. We are a critical part of Xbox’s mission to empower the world’s 3 billion gamers to play the games they want, with the people they want, anywhere they want, with as little friction as possible. We are looking for a Software Engineer II who is excited about collaborating across design, services, and platform to deliver rich interactive experiences. In this role, you’ll design and ship software that helps attract new users into the ecosystem, encourages creative ways to play, and empowers developers to build more engaging, high‑quality experiences to drive forward Xbox.

Responsibilities
Learn about various tools and technologies and effectively use them to deliver a wide variety of customer experiences.
Implement, validate, and release high quality product features.
Adhere to modern AI accelerated engineering principles and practices.
Collaborate with other engineers, program managers, and designers to make impactful changes.
Actively contributes to a flexible, diverse, and inclusive culture that brings out the best in the team.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript OR equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience in software development building end-user applications
Experience building modern applications with React and Typescript.
Deep understanding of asynchronous programming and state management in frontend applications.
Experience with cloud service integration and deployment pipelines (Azure preferred).
Advanced English level.
Additional or preferred qualifications
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
Experience shipping cross-platform applications using React JS and Typescript
Technical knowledge and understanding of challenges related to the gaming space, including but not limited to responsive UX design across device form factors, navigational input including gamepad, touch, and mouse/keyboard,
Experience in accelerating coding workflows using AI tools like Github Copilot CLI
