IBM Associate Partner - Cybersecurity Services - Financial Services in Muenchen, Germany

Your role and responsibilities

Associate Partner - Cybersecurity in Financial Services (Germany)

As an Associate Partner for Cybersecurity in Financial Services, you will leverage your expertise in cybersecurity and financial services to develop new business opportunities and lead client acceptance of IBM terms and conditions for cybersecurity services delivery across Germany. You will utilize your deep knowledge of complex cybersecurity engagements to solve critical security challenges facing German financial institutions.

Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include:

Develop Cybersecurity Business Opportunities: Identify and pursue new cybersecurity business opportunities within the German financial services sector, creatively participating in the development of security solutions that address threats such as fraud, data breaches, regulatory compliance, and digital transformation challenges specific to banks, insurance companies, and other financial institutions.

Establish Trusted Client Relationships: Build and maintain trusted long-term relationships with C-suite executives and CISOs at German financial services organizations through your ability to articulate cybersecurity solutions and establish strong relationships with other IBM practices used in the delivery of complex security services.

Navigate German Financial Services Regulations: Demonstrate expertise in German and EU financial services regulations including BaFin requirements, DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act), GDPR, PSD2, MaRisk, and other relevant compliance frameworks to ensure solutions meet regulatory obligations.

Develop Cybersecurity Proposals and Contracts: Draft and review responses to RFIs and RFPs for cybersecurity services, IBM contracts, and statements of work specific to financial services security requirements, ensuring alignment with contractual and regulatory requirements for the German market.

Drive Cybersecurity Business Growth: Provide strong leadership in winning new cybersecurity business within German financial services, leveraging your expertise in areas such as:

  • Security Operations Center (SOC) services

  • Threat detection and incident response

  • Identity and access management

  • Cloud security for financial services

  • Zero Trust architecture

  • Security risk assessments and audits

  • Compliance and regulatory advisory

Required Qualifications:

• Fluency in German and English (written and spoken)

• Deep expertise in cybersecurity frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls)

• Strong knowledge of German financial services regulatory landscape

• Proven track record in cybersecurity sales and delivery within financial services

Required technical and professional expertise

Required Qualifications & Experience

Proven Experience in Complex Cybersecurity Services Engagements: Deep expertise in developing new cybersecurity business opportunities within the financial services sector, leading to client acceptance of IBM terms and conditions for security services delivery. Demonstrated expert knowledge of cybersecurity methodologies, frameworks, and skills needed to solve critical security challenges facing German banks, insurance companies, and financial institutions, including threat mitigation, risk management, and compliance requirements.

Expert Knowledge of Cybersecurity Contractual Requirements: Strong familiarity with contractual and regulatory requirements for cybersecurity services in German financial services, with the ability to draft and review responses to RFIs and RFPs for security engagements, IBM security contracts, and statements of work that address BaFin, DORA, GDPR, MaRisk, and other relevant compliance frameworks.

Established Track Record in Cybersecurity Business Development: Extensive experience in identifying and winning cybersecurity business opportunities within the German financial services market, creatively participating in the development of security solutions (including SOC services, incident response, identity management, cloud security, and Zero Trust implementations), and providing strong leadership in securing new client engagements.

Financial Services Cybersecurity Expertise: Deep understanding of the German financial services industry's cybersecurity landscape, including regulatory environment, threat vectors, and security challenges. Ability to articulate complex security solutions to C-suite executives and CISOs, and establish strong relationships with IBM's security practice areas, technology partners, and delivery teams to execute comprehensive security programs.

Additional Requirements:

Language Proficiency: Fluency in German and English (written and spoken) is mandatory

Regional Expertise: Deep knowledge of the German financial services market, regulatory landscape, and cybersecurity requirements

Industry Certifications: Relevant cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent) strongly preferred

Client-Facing Experience: Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with senior executives at major German financial institutions

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Deep Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of multiple industries, with the ability to articulate solutions and establish strong relationships with other areas of IBM used in the delivery of complex services. • Advanced Contract Negotiation: Expertise in drafting and reviewing complex contracts, including responses to Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposal (RFP). • Business Development Expertise: Experience in creatively participating in the development of solutions, and providing strong assistance to IBM in the winning of new business.
