Overview
Come join the Mailchimp Paid Media Marketing Analytics team as a Staff Data Scientist. You will be joining a team that is responsible for driving marketing decisions through data-backed insights, bringing new customers via paid marketing channels. As a paid media marketing data scientist, you will drive a deeper understanding of marketing campaign performance, help identify areas of opportunity within marketing channels, and inform marketing strategy through advanced analytics and data science tools.
Responsibilities
Partner across marketing, DS, and research teams to drive comprehensive paid media measurement roadmaps
Build channel learning plans to unpack and deliver deep insights on the factors driving media performance including creative, audience, partners, and media tactics
Execute the technical DS components of measurement roadmaps including data instrumentation, attribution, experimentation, marketing model deployment, and ad-hoc analytics work
Track the performance of paid media against business goals, lead the construction of channel reporting and data narratives related to paid media to senior leaders, guiding strategic optimization decisions
Shape paid media strategy and investment mix by running cross channel optimization scenarios and sizing marginal contributions from incremental budgets
Inform the strategic roadmap for marketing science capabilities, including MMM, AMM, and geo experimentation
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in a data science or analytics position specific to marketing and paid media measurement
Experienced in advanced statistical analysis, A/B testing, geo/match-market experimentation, marketing AI/ML use cases including MMM, and marketing attribution
Practical experience constructing data pipelines and ETL utilizing SQL and Python, as instrumenting new data requirements and manipulating large complex datasets
Very strong insight mining and data storytelling skills, with a proven ability to rapidly construct data narratives and drive decisions with marketing leaders
Well developed business acumen, with proven ability to shape GTM and growth strategy across highly complex businesses with multiple interdependent SKUs/business lines, financial services preferred
Experience in using GenAI tools to augment self service reporting and insight generation capabilities
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent work experience, advanced degree preferred

Bay Area California $186,500 - 252,000
