Job Description
PURPOSE
To safely handle and move all finished products as well as raw material to support the production process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Review production orders and determines that correct packing materials are available at the line, if not take, the appropriate materials to the packers (machine operators) so they can complete their job.
Takes the finished product for shipment; then takes the wrapped product to the staging area.
Move skids and pallets from outside the building to inside the building; places them in designated area.
Moves scrap filled gay -lords to the recycling area and signs off on documentation
Cuts cardboard cores to the exact measurement for each production line where cores are needed.
Reads work orders and prepares cores for the lines.
Moves pallets and skids to the designated areas.
Verbally communicates with co-workers on production needs and process.
Responsible for adhering to and executing the applicable Environmental Health & Safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for all employees according to Amcor, local, state, and federal requirement-regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English
Ability to do functional math; i.e. adding, subtracting, multiplying, division.
Accurately read provided measuring devices.
EXPERIENCE
High school diploma, equivalent, or previous manufacturing experience.
Have a valid Amcor forklift license
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to do functional math; i.e. adding, subtracting, multiplying and division. Accurately read provided measuring devices.
SAFETY
Adheres to safety policies and procedures in compliance with Amcor’s guidelines including wearing mandatory PPE in production areas. Visually inspects production area for tripping hazards, equipment safeguards and maintains a clean work environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must be able to keep up with moderate speed production machines and core cutter saw. Manual dexterity required with exposure to arms, wrist, and back fatigue. The employee routinely bends and lifts up to 50 pounds over a twelve-hour shift, pulls and drags sheets of plastic, rearranges and organizes product and materials, pushes a broom to clean the production floor.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions on this job. The employee is constantly exposed to temperature variances; Extreme heat during the Spring and Summer and cold temperatures during the Winter.
