FORTNA Systems Inc. Supervisor, After Market Engineering in Mount Washington, Kentucky

FORTNA Systems, Inc. seeks a Supervisor, After Market Engineering in Mt. Washington, KY.Duties: Responsible for coordinating activities of the assigned Embedded Engineering team, providing oversight to ensure project deliverables are completed to standards and within established deadlines. Assist the Engineering Director with resource allocations, operating quality/efficiency/on schedule performance, group utilization, HR related items, implement policies, as well as travelling to customer's sites as needed. Manage the in-house engineering team for site-based conveyor systems for distribution, fulfillment, parcel, and warehouse applications. Be part of an engineering team deploying complex material handling solutions for the customer. Learn and improve numerous technologies developed by FORTNA in sortation, singulation, gapping, induction, merging etc. Support and develop a team of engineers, overseeing quality and timeliness of assigned work activities. Upheld the team ensuring customer expectations are met. Provide project analysis and recommend necessary actions to achieve project deliverables to company standards and within established timelines. Assist with ensuring that administrative tasks occur in a timely manner, (e.g. timecard, expenses, and travel). Perform engineering duties on projects. Knowledge of all required functions of the Embedded Engineering Team. Provide technical support and instruction to the team members. Utilize manufacturing and installation best practices. Collaborate with other teams within the group and / or company to identify common problems and solutions. Telecommuting is permitted. Requires up to 50% domestic travel to customer locations throughout the U.S.Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field plus 3 years of professional experience in Electrical Engineering within the Material Handling industry or closely related industries. Requires at least 1 year of experience working with AB, Schneider, Beckhoff and Siemens electrical products; Requires thorough knowledge of NEC and NFPA and UL508A regulations/ requirements as demonstrated through at least 1 year of professional experience; Requires at least 1 year of experience working with hardware used in material handling systems, including: sorters, conveyors, panel electrical components, and field electrical components. Telecommuting is permitted. Requires up to 50% domestic travel to customer locations throughout the U.S.40 hours/week.
