Insight Global TS/SCI Lead Network Engineer in Mount Vernon, Virginia
Job Description
This position is willing to offer a salary of $160,000-$165,000 depending on experience and qualifications. This position requires a Top Secret w/ SCI Eligibility US Government Security Clearance.
Insight Global is seeking a Lead Network Engineer to support a high-visibility federal defense program focused on modernizing U.S. Government IT infrastructure across CONUS installations. This role will lead the engineering design and implementation of secure and non-secure networks, voice modernization, and foundational IT services. The ideal candidate is a senior technical leader with deep DoD experience, strong documentation skills, and the ability to guide complex infrastructure efforts from concept through deployment while interfacing directly with government stakeholders.
Develop and execute system engineering plans across the full project lifecycle
• Design and modernize Government IT infrastructure solutions (NIPR, SIPR, Wi-Fi, VoIP, ISP/OSP, VMOD)
• Create and maintain EIPs, network architectures, and implementation documentation
• Provide fielding engineers with complete technical packages for deployment
• Conduct feasibility studies and analysis of alternatives (AoA)
• Produce ROMs, cost estimates, risk analyses, and technical recommendations
• Ensure compliance with DoD policies, guides, and standards
• Submit site-specific reports, drawings, and engineering artifacts for government approval
• Support program reviews, briefings, conferences, and milestone decisions
• Identify and recommend resolution paths for technical and program risks

Skills and Requirements
Security Clearance: Top Secret/SCI Eligibility
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field IT, engineering, or technical field. An additional four (4) years of relevant experience allowed in lieu of a degree.
Ten (10) years’ experience as a Lead Engineer or leading projects of similar scope
DoD 8570 IAT III
At Least one of the following: Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert or Cisco Certified Design Expert, or Government-Approved vendor equivalent will be considered.
Must be available during core hours (0900-1500) and available onsite at Fort Belvoir, as requested. Has the communication skills to effectively interface with senior military officials, managers, and subordinates.
DevOps certification from Cisco, Microsoft, or an industry recognized leader in DevOps.
