Aerotek 1st Shift Welder in Mount Vernon, Iowa

We’re looking for experienced welders who take pride in producing strong, clean, and consistent welds. Whether your experience is in structural steel or aluminum fabrication, this opportunity offers steady hours, variety in your workday, and long‑term career stability.
Position Overview
As a Welder, you will support several welding departments including structural steel, aluminum welding, and general fabrication. You’ll work independently at your own station, perform high‑quality MIG welding, and interpret blueprints to complete large‑scale weldments with accuracy and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Perform MIG welding on steel, structural components, and aluminum
Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and measurement specifications
Tack, fit, and assemble components prior to welding
Produce strong, consistent welds on both small and large components
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Work independently while contributing to team‑based production goals
Qualifications
At least 6 months of MIG welding experience (steel or aluminum)
Minimum 1 year of on‑the‑job welding experience
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Comfortable welding in various positions
Willingness to work approximately 50 hours per week
Welding certificate or degree is a plus but not required

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Vernon, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
