Manufacturing Cost Accountant (Direct Hire | Full-Time)

Location: Mt. Pleasant - on site with some remote flexibility

Overview

Our firm is partnering with a well-established manufacturing company to hire an experienced Manufacturing Accountant for a direct-hire, permanent role. This is not a contract or contract-to-hire position. The successful candidate will join the company's payroll from day one and receive a competitive compensation package with excellent, employer-paid benefits.

This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with strong cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within metal fabrication, who enjoys improving processes, strengthening controls, and partnering with leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and monthly financial statements
• Manage accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
• Maintain, analyze, and improve accounting records and financial reports
• Reconcile bank accounts and prepare cash flow reports
• Implement rules-based automation for accounting systems, bank reconciliations, and approvals
• Review, enhance, and maintain internal controls for AR, AP, Payroll, Inventory, and Purchasing
• Review and maintain the Chart of Accounts and implement company-wide accounting processes
• Prepare and submit tax filings, including sales/use tax and corporate income tax returns
• Analyze financial statements to identify discrepancies, trends, and improvement opportunities
• Collaborate with management to support operational and financial decision-making

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• 8--10 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or similar environment
• Metal fabrication experience strongly preferred
• Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise and/or QuickBooks Online
• Strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures and inventory accounting
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities
