Job Description:
The Payroll Business Application Analyst II provides business application management related support. May be responsible for operational process support, application reporting, issue logging, issue status reporting and support on requirements gathering.
Payroll Business Application Analyst II with specialized expertise in Workday Payroll configuration for United States This role will be instrumental in supporting payroll operations, ensuring compliance with regional regulations, and optimizing Workday functionality to meet business needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working in large organizations (10,000+ employees) and have a strong understanding of Payroll .
Depth & Scope:
Professional role with focus on providing functional specialized business application management activities, advisory or process / program support for own area of specialty within defined parameters
Requires sound knowledge of applications supported by the team including system components, functionality, interfaces, data flows, and business rules
Sound knowledge of bank's PDLC methodology, business testing and project management
Requires sound conceptual knowledge of practices and procedures for own field of specialty
Solid understanding of business / functional drivers and processes supported for own area
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills to Investigate and recommend potential solutions, ensures processes and functional programs are implemented
May lead small projects and / or support work streams of bigger projects
Executes on work with some complexity: generally requiring short to medium –term focus (weekly –monthly)
Typically involved in developing business requirements
Work generally reviewed by a more senior Business Analyst and/or Manager
Education & Experience:
Undergraduate degree or technical certificate
2+ years relevant experience
Fundamental knowledge of businesses supported, applications supported, bank's PDLC methodology, business testing, project management, change management and governance standards
Knowledge of function policies, procedures and practices
Analytical and problem-solving skills are required
Knowledge of current and emerging competitor and market trends
Skill in using analytical software tools, data analysis methods and reporting techniques
Skill in using computer applications including MS Office
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships
Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently
Ability to exercise sound judgement in making decisions
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Customer Accountabilities:
Responsible for executing day to day operations (policies and procedures) and administrative support to multiple applications owned and managed including access management
Responsible for the documentation of all business owned artifacts that are required for projects and major initiatives as defined by the bank's project delivery methodology and other enterprise application / data lifecycle practices
Provides on-going support to various business partners and users on applications
Provides support and input scorecard/dashboard key performance metrics and operational monitoring on applications for business partners
Manages and supports on all Business Operation documentation that is required
Continuously identifies and recommends opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency of the business unit and/or team
Responsible for implementing enhancements to existing workflows to ensure automation, efficiency improvements and standardization for a streamlined, efficient operational processes
Defines and executes change management to ensure changes introduced by projects are transitioned into BAU both internally (i.e., Operations) and externally (i.e., consumers of customer data/information)
Assists in the execution of BAT testing for projects and/or release maintenances

Preferred Qualifications:
Good understanding of payroll processes, tax rules, and compliance requirements.
Good accounting and general ledger skills.
Working knowledge of other workday modules: HCM, Time Tracking, Absence, Benefits
Knowledge of workday including system components, functionality, interfaces, data flows, and business rules
Knowledge of bank's PDLC methodology, business testing and project management
Requires experienced, conceptual and practical knowledge within their own specialty and knowledge of broader related areas
Advanced understanding of business / functional drivers and processes supported for own area
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate with various business partners to explain complex technical issues with a business lens in easily understandable terms
Exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
Work performed under minimal management guidance and supervision
